HobbyCraft and Us ......Mosaic Coasters

#AD We were kindly gifted items by Hobbycraft for our residents craft sessions at St Isans Care Home in Llanishen,Cardiff in return for a series of  reviews.
*All opinions are my own and 100% honest*

We were sent two Mosaic Kits by HobbyCraft: The Dolphin Mosaic Coaster and The Flower Mosaic Coaster there is everything you need within the kit (except water for the grouting and scissors)

I found the adhesive paper ,that needs to be attached to the coaster to be problematic in that it took several attempts to release it from the paper that held it ( but then I do bite my nails , so enrolled the help of a visiting relative who doesn't!)
My residents can be pretty 'gung ho' in accomplishing a task - so when I attempted to cut up the tiles with scissors ( I feel maybe scissors aren't ideal for this task as tiles flew across the table and onto the floor) they were busy putting tiles onto the coaster in an array of patterns! It was at this point I had to rethink the craft and just 'go with the flow'

In all the two coasters were made by 5 residents as patience/interest and attention waned.I mixed and applied the grouting with one resident (the lady pictured above)

In conclusion, I feel this particular activity wasn't as successful as Decoupage,it was too intricate, even on a basic level for our residents.
However I would like to thank HobbyCraft for the opportunity in trying this craft.
